Mountain Top Music Center’s Spring Concert – April 28th

CONWAY NH – Mountain Top Music Center’s Community Orchestra will present a spring concert featuring Mozart’s Symphony 25 at 4 p.m. at Salyard’s Center for the Performing Arts in Conway Village. Admission is by donation at the door. Come and support the valley’s community orchestra. Conducted and guided by maestro Chris Nourse, the orchestra welcomes new players. Recently, several violin and viola players have joined. Rehearsals are held at the Kennett Middle School in Conway Village on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.

NORTH CONWAY NH – Be Kind Fest 2013 takes place May 17 & 18 in Mount Washington Valley spreading out from Kindness Headquarters in Schouler Park. Many events planned including a lecture by Michael Chase, The Kindness Guy, a visit by authors Nancy Sporborg and Pat Piper, the Soyfire Candlelit Labyrinth and the kindness rally, music in Schouler Park, a healthy food expo, and an interfaith hospice remembrance butterfly release.

The Be Kind Fest 2013 is sponsored by The Visiting Nurse, Home Care and Hospice of Carroll County and The Evergreen Institute for Wellness.

Benefit for Mount Washington Valley Lacrosse Club and Kennett Lacrosse Team – March 26th

NORTH CONWAY NH – The Mount Washington Valley Lacrosse Club will hold a fund-raising event at Flatbread Company, at the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway.

A portion of all pizza sales between 4 and 9 p.m. will be donated to the teams. Raffles will be available. There are over 150 local lacrosse athletes ages 9-18. The club currently raises money for uniforms, coaches, referees, and equipment.

TAMWORTH NH – Blood Drive. The American Red Cross will hold a blood
drive, 1-6 p.m. at K.A.Brett Elementary School in Tamworth. All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood. Blood donors are needed everyday to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.
In February, all presenting donors will receive a coupon for a buy one get one free adult lift ticket to a participating mountain for downhill skiing, snowboarding, alpine or nordic skiing. Come in to give blood in
February and you’ll also receive a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert from Chili’s Grill & Bar.

Fourth Annual Lovell Lions Club Ice Fishing Derby – Feb 16th

LOVELL, MAINE – The Lovell Lions Club holds its fourth annual ice fishing derby today and tomorrow, on all lakes and ponds over 100 acres in Oxford County. The entry fee is $10 for both days. There will be $100 cash prizes for the heaviest togue, the heaviest bass, the heaviest pickerel, and the heaviest fish overall. There will be a $50 cash prize for children 12 years old and under for the heaviest fish. There will be additional prizes and raffles as well. Registration begins each day at 5 a.m. at the North Lovell Grange Hall, which is located on Route 5 in North Lovell. Weigh-In will be at 4 p.m. each day at the Grange Hall.
