MOUNTAIN-TOPCONWAY NH – Mountain Top Music Center’s Community Orchestra will present a spring concert featuring Mozart’s Symphony 25 at 4 p.m. at Salyard’s Center for the Performing Arts in Conway Village. Admission is by donation at the door. Come and support the valley’s community orchestra. Conducted and guided by maestro Chris Nourse, the orchestra welcomes new players. Recently, several violin and viola players have joined. Rehearsals are held at the Kennett Middle School in Conway Village on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.

LACROSSNORTH CONWAY NH – The Mount Washington Valley Lacrosse Club will hold a fund-raising event at Flatbread Company, at the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway.

A portion of all pizza sales between 4 and 9 p.m. will be donated to the teams. Raffles will be available. There are over 150 local lacrosse athletes ages 9-18. The club currently raises money for uniforms, coaches, referees, and equipment.

NORTH CONWAY NH – At the Paddy O’Paws Benefit Brunch and Auction you will enjoy the famous
and traditional Red Jacket Sunday brunch that includes an omelet bar, fruits and pastries, a chef’s carving station, eggs benedict, and much more. TAMWORTH NH – Blood Drive. The American Red Cross will hold a blood
drive, 1-6 p.m. at K.A.Brett Elementary School in Tamworth. All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood. Blood donors are needed everyday to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.
In February, all presenting donors will receive a coupon for a buy one get one free adult lift ticket to a participating mountain for downhill skiing, snowboarding, alpine or nordic skiing. Come in to give blood in
February and you’ll also receive a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert from Chili’s Grill & Bar.

This event attracts a wide variety of sculptors, both amateur and professional. In fact, many of the Competing Teams will be using this weekend as a practice run for Lake Geneva and the Nationals. Other sanctioned states holding championship competitions include Alaska, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Wisconsin. Each team of sculptors consists of 2 or 3 members, and in order to be eligible to compete in the State Championship, team members must be 18 years or older and reside or work in New Hampshire. The winning team of the State Championship will receive a trophy and an invitation to compete in the United States National Snow Sculpting Competition, to be held at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in 2014. Our New Hampshire State Sanctioned winners for 2012 was the Greg Grady, Jr. team who will be headed to Lake Geneva for the 2013 Nationals representing the entire state of New Hampshire. Dick Devellian who is from Jackson, New Hampshire, have been a past winner a few times. The winners of the Nationals then go on to compete in international competitions offered by sanctioned member countries such as Switzerland, France, Italy, Japan, Canada, China, Norway and Russia.
